Channel 4 Documentary - Interested in helping with research?
A production company are currently making a series of documentaries reflecting changes in young people's lives. They are keen to ensure they explore parental divorce or separation from the perspective of the children in the family. They are currently looking for people aged 16-25 to speak to as part of their confidential research. The films in the series are united by a sense of hope and feature young people overcoming challenges on their route to adulthood and coming to a realisation of their own place in the world. They are therefore particularly keen to speak to young people who are now making a positive commitment in a relationship of their own or even getting married. If you would like to find out more about this, without any obligation, please contact ayesha@rareday.co.uk.

........Working together
We are delighted to announce that Happy Steps are working in partnership with Relate to help deliver more support for stepfamilies. All the Happy Steps courses have been endorsed by Relate, and by Relate’s new ambassador for stepfamilies, Danielle Lineker. We are currently working closely together to develop and deliver a range of workshops for both stepfamilies and parenting professionals.
For more information and details of courses available please contact Dr Lisa Doodson (lisa@happysteps.co.uk) or Anna Shaw (anna.shaw@relate.org.uk).
New Stepfamily Workshops
The Happy Steps stepfamily workshop is the only stepparenting course currently available in the UK. The course has been fully evaluated and there is evidence to suggest that it is highly effective at increasing confidence in stepparenting, reducing anxiety and increasing self esteem. It's also a great opportunity to talk to others in the same position as yourself and ask any questions you may have about stepfamilies and the trials and tribulations of stepparenting! If you would like to know more then please contact us.
Facebook - Discussion group
We have just launched our 'Happy Steps' interest group on facebook so you can chat with other stepfamily members. Why not join us? It's a great place to share ideas or get advice and support from others who've experienced the same problems. Sometimes just knowing you're not alone in feeling the way you do can really help. Just log on to facebook and search through the groups. You'll find us in the family section.
